A man was sentenced on Tuesday for attempting to escape the Warren County Jail.

Johnny Ailes, who also had a small possession of meth charge, was sentenced by Judge James Chaney to a total of eight years with six to serve(3 years for meth and 3 years for attempting to escape). He plead guilty to the crimes.

While incarcerated at the Warren County Jail, Ailes crawled to the top of his cell block where he attempted to escape. He never made it out of his cell block before jailers were able to take control of the situation. Ailes also had a broken blade in his possession at the time that apparently was left behind from a construction crew.

Lane Campbell represented Ailes in the case and Branan Southerland was the lead Prosecutor.
