Masters Week Brings Par Three Tournament to Senior Scramble

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — In the spirit of Masters Week, Clear Creek Golf Course brought a taste of Augusta to Vicksburg by transforming its regular senior scramble into a Par Three tournament. Sixty-three golfers participated in the event.
“The Masters Par Three Tournament at Augusta is today,” said Ronny Ross. “We have our senior scramble on Wednesday, so we decided to make them all par threes and have a big Masters Par Three tournament.”
All 18 holes were converted to par threes — some long, some short — with pins placed in challenging locations.
Participants were treated to pimento cheese sandwiches, chips, and drinks, in true Masters tradition. The course was decorated with a Masters theme, and prizes awarded for several closest-to-the-pin winners.
A $5 increase in entry fees was introduced this week, with all funds returned as cash prizes. One dollar per player was allocated to each of the four par-three holes to create individual cash pots. Any remaining funds were added to a hole-in-one pot, which will roll over weekly until claimed.
