Mississippi Police Officer Charged with Statutory Rape

MERIDIAN, Miss. – On Thursday May 16th, 2024, a complaint was filed with the Mississippi Department of Child Protective Services in reference to a twelve-year-old girl being molested by suspect, Meridian Police Department Lieutenant, Kevin Michael Boyd.

During the investigation enough evidence was found to charge Boyd with Rape- Statutory [Victim Under 14 YOA].

On Tuesday August 6th, 2024, after the arrest warrant was signed by a judge, contact was made between Sheriff Moore and the Meridian Police Department. Arrangements were made to have Boyd brought to the sheriff’s department in DeKalb by the police department for Boyd to turn himself in.

Boyd’s initial appearance is set for today at the Kemper County Courthouse.
