Missy Gators defeat Ridgeland 18-2 in a district win on Tuesday

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg High School softball team added another district win to their record after defeating Ridgeland on Tuesday. The Missy Gators run-ruled the Lady Titans 18-3. VHS came out hot and ended the night still on fire as they racked up 17 hits in the win.

Although the Missy Gators had a night full of highlights, Trinity McGloster and Madisyn Kimble both stood out as they hit inside-the-park home runs.
McGloster hit hers first which brought in three runs.
“I feel good about my hitting overall and we’re going to keep up this good teamwork and communication like we did today so it can carry on to Thursday and next week,” McGloster said.

Trinity ended the game with a double, an inside-the-park-homerun, and three RBIs.
Kimble hit first her 3-run inside-the-park home run in the second inning. The eighth grader finished with two hits and four RBIs.
“I don’t think it was meant to be a homerun but I got it,” she said jokingly. “We’re going to keep hustling and getting better.”
Zion Harvey showed out again for VHS as she hit three doubles and four RBIs. Avery VanNorman hit two doubles and went 3 for 3 while Camden McGloster also hit two double and one RBI. Makynzie Dunmore smashed a triple and went 3 for 3 with two RBIs.

Lili Kistler struck out three batters in the win.

The Missy Gators are now 2-2 in district play and they will hit the road on Thursday to play Loyd Star.
