Missy Gators defeated Holmes County Central to improve to 9-1
LEXINGTON, Miss. (VDN) — The Vicksburg High varsity volleyball team continued its hot start under head coach Linda Johnson, sweeping Holmes County Central in straight sets on Thursday. The Missy Gators dominated with scores of 25-6, 25-6 and 25-6 to improve their record to 9-1.
Jordan Grace led the way with 22 points and five digs, while Amari Johnson added 12 points and five digs. Jamiya Stewart chipped in 11 points and four digs, and Teagan Stewart contributed a balanced effort with six points and six digs. Jada Erwin finished with eight points and one dig, Jermeria Wright scored six points, Saudia Stewart tallied four points, and Dallas West rounded out the team effort with six points and four digs.
In junior varsity action, Vicksburg won two out of three sets (25-12, 25-6). Alaina Williams paced the JV with 12 points, while Harmony Harris recorded 10 points and one dig. Zaria Jones finished with 10 points and three digs, and Imani Kelly had six points and four digs. JaKeyla Curry and Zipporah Drake each scored six points.
The Missy Gators will host Lanier next Thursday.
