Missy Gators defeated Neshoba Central in overtime for the first time in five years

Vicksburg, Miss.-The Vicksburg High School girls’ basketball team pulled of a tremendous victory in overtime against Neshoba Central on Tuesday night. Last night’s 63-60 win marked the first time the Missy Gators defeated the Lady Rocket in five years.

The hectic game was tied at 56-56 at the end of the fourth quarter which forced an overtime.

Zion Harvey led things on the board for VHS as she finished the night with 23 points, five assists and five steals. Cynia Johnson also had another successful night with a double-double as she brought in 18 points and 16 rebounds. She also had four steals and three blocks.

Jordan Grace brought in nine points while Raylyn Parson finished with five on the board along with Aaliyah Mims, Jada Erwin, Carjessa Albert(7 rebounds) and Jamiya Stewart who all scored two points. 

Boys:

The VHS boys came up short in a 57-53 loss to Neshoba Central.

Marlyn Foy had a career-high of 20 points and Mincer Minor IV added 13 points as well. Jadarius Henderson brought in 10 points, DeCorey Knight Jr. put up five points and Kris Washington scored three points. JaQuez Marshall ended the game with two points.

The Gators will travel to play Ridgeland on Friday.

Warren Central:

WC took a close 70-62 loss to Ridgeland.
