MS Office Of Homeland Security Warns Of Recent Phone Scam

Published

on

Mississippi Department of Public Safety and the Mississippi Office of Homeland Security are making the public aware of a scam that has been circulating recently.

Scammers will call and say they are with a local law enforcement agency to try to scam people out of their money.

Scammers impersonate a police officer and claim there is a warrant for them or their loved ones.

They then demand payment via Venmo, wire transfer, gift card, etc. to avoid arrest.

If you receive one of these calls, please call MOHS at 601-933-7200 or your local law enforcement agency.
