Investigator Phillips releases mug shots of Port Gibson murder suspects

Port Gibson Police Department Chief Investigator Carlton Phillips, has released the names and mugshots of the two people charged in yesterday’s killing.

Thursday afternoon the Port Gibson Police Department received a tip about a body in a car on Utopia Drive.

Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered that 23-year-old Ethen McGrew was shot in the head. Police Chief Russell Dorsey responded to the scene of the shooting and began the investigation. He was assisted by the Claiborne County Sheriff’s office in the investigation.

Chief Investigator Carlton Phillips arrived later in the day and worked the case into the early morning hours. Two people were arrested and charged. Phillips said, “The Sheriff’s office did so much to help in this case. With their help and the work Chief Dorsey put in, we were able to get the critical information and arrest the suspects.”

Jor’Derrious Barber, 17

Charged with Murder is 17-year-old Jor’Derrious Barber of Port Gibson. He is being charged as an adult. Barber’s bond was denied by Judge Odom.

Jeremiah Timmons, 16

Jeremiah Timmons, 16, is being charged as an accessory after the fact and is also being charged as an adult. Timmons had his bond revoked by Judge Odom due to a prior violation.
