Multi-Agency response saves home from fire
A multi-agency response was able to quickly put out a spreading fire and save a home in Vicksburg.
At about 6:15 a.m. a fire was reported on Halls Ferry in Marcus Bottom. The caller reported seeing smoke and flames. Within seconds a Warren County Sheriff’s deputy responded that they were in the area and went to the address. The deputy stated there was white smoke coming from the structure. Shortly thereafter he reported flames as well.

The Vicksburg Daily News was live-streaming the event and captured law enforcement entering the structure to ensure no one was inside the home.
Multiple units with the Vicksburg Fire Department responded including Batallion 1, Engine 6, Engine 7, Platform 1, Rescue and a fire medic unit along with Vicksburg Police officers.
The first firefighters entered the structure and were able to quickly extinguish the flames as captured on the live stream.
Damage to the unit is minimal in the front part of the home, but there is significant damage to the addition where the fire originated.
This is the 4th fire in two days. A home on Redbone was a complete loss. A home on East Street had a fire originate in the laundry room. A structure on Bonelli was a complete loss and this morning, this home on Halls Ferry in Marcus Bottom was saved due to a quick multi-agency response.
