People’s Drug Store Going Out of Business After 100 Years

VICKSBURG, Miss. – In a message sent to the Vicksburg Daily News, the People’s Drug Store, 1521 Washington Street, are going out of business after serving the Vicksburg community since 1921.

Below is the full statement:

“I am sad to say, yes, the rumors are true. We are going out of business.

We have fought as hard and as long as we could to stay in business for you, but we no longer can afford the expenses of operation due to the low reimbursement from the insurance companies, especially the medicare ones.

We will be happy to fill your medicine for you one last time and then just let us know where you would like your prescriptions sent and have that pharmacy call us and we will transfer them out.

Thank you for being our customer. You will be truly missed.
