Raymond, Miss.-Raymond High School boys’ basketball team has advanced to the “Big House”(Final Four) for the ninth consecutive year. The Rangers are currently 25-8 on the season, and they were named the Regular Season District Champions and won the District Tournament just shortly before the start of the playoffs.

“Winning never gets old and I never take it for granted,” Raymond Head Coach Tony Tadlock said in a Facebook post. “We punched our ticket for the 9th straight season. As a team, we appreciate the support from each and everyone that makes up Rangernation. Without your support, this would not be possible. Thank you again for your help and for making our home court tough for visiting teams.”

In the first round of the playoffs, the Rangers came out with a 68-37 win over Sumrall High School. A few days later they captured a 35-28 victory over Mendenhall High School in the second round just before beating Forest County AHS in the quarterfinals in a 38-30 win.

Raymond High School’s lead scorers are Jadyn Garrett, Brandon Walker and Willie Myles who have all helped the team to their current 6-game winning streak. Earlier this year, the Rangers went on a 7-game winning streak to stay ahead of their competition.

The Rangers are the defending state champions who lost multiple players due to graduation last year. They are set to play Itawamba AHS on Wednesday at the Mississippi Coliseum at 6 pm. A win on Wednesday will put the Rangers in another championship game.
