Raymond High School defeats Warren Central on Tuesday
Raymond High School basketball teams secured two wins over Warren Central on Tuesday.
Girls:
The Lady Rangers came away with a 71-30 win over WC.
By halftime, Raymond had a 46-11 lead after Keasia West and Madyson McGill both knocked down multiple shots.
Coming out of halftime Harmony Wright got WC on the board a few times while Mariah Harrison knocked down a 3-pointer. Kaylenn Mosley put four points on the board for Raymond in the third quarter.
By the last quarter of play, the game all belonged to the Lady Rangers as West hit three 3-pointers.
West led with 21 points and McGill finished with 14 in the win. Julia Robinson added 15 points and Mosley had eight. Shay Hodge put up 12 for WC and Wright ended with 11 while hit two 3-pointers.
Boys:
The Vikings fell short 52-44 against the Rangers where both teams went back and forth all night.
Eric Paymon Jr. and Keymarius Lewis both hit 3-pointers in the first quarter to help Raymond take a 12-10 first quarter lead. Gaylon Turner Jr. hit some key shots while Ronnie Blossom profited from the free throw line to keep the game competitive.
Lewis(RHS) and Roosevelt Harris(WC) both came out the second quarter putting up some points for their teams as the Rangers went into halftime up 27-20. Mekhi Strong and Ke’Monte Wright both grabbed big dunks for RHS just before halftime.
The Rangers started the third quarter with a nasty dunk from Paymon but WC didn’t still managed to keep the game close as Harris hit multiple free throws. The Rangers never let their lead slip away and eventually took home the win and improved to 12-3 under Head Coach Tony Tadlock.
Lewis ended the night with 16 points and Paymon added 14 and Wright had six. Turner and Harris both had 13 points and Blossom scored five.
