Santa Visited the Fostoria Neighborhood
VICKSBURG, Miss. – Santa Claus and an unnamed helper Elf visited the Fostoria Neighborhood on Sunday.
At about 5 p.m., Santa and one of his Elves were spotted near the intersection of Drummond and Speed Street in the Fostoria Neighborhood. Multiple neighbors reported seeing the crafty character and were able to engage him for over an hour. While on the site, Santa took photos with many children of all ages.
Members of the Fostoria Neighborhood also lit up Christmas Trees and passed out candy canes to passing people. About a dozen neighbors and children were on hand for the Christmas Tree Lighting and get-together. Hundreds of candy canes were passed out to people who drove through the area. Several wide-eyed children took photos with Santa and his Elf at the Event.
This is the fourth year the Fostoria Neighborhood has come together to spread holiday cheer with the community. Fostoria neighbor Launo Moore said, “Thanks to Santa and his Elf for always coming to our Annual Christmas Tree Lighting. It was a great evening.”
In addition to knowing Santa, the Fostoria Neighborhood also hosts an annual Porchfest Event. This past year was the biggest year ever for the community event. Proceeds from Porchfest are donated to area charities with an emphasis on children’s charities and shelters.
