Selvy Speaks on Becoming an Entrepreneur at Small Business Forum
VICKSBURG, MS. – The City of Vicksburg held a Small Business Forum on Wednesday to share insight on how to start a successful business. Vicksburg native Deonta Selvy spoke at the event sharing some of his story about becoming an entrepreneur.
“Being an entrepreneur has its ups and downs, it’s hard but I try to make it fun,”’ Selvy said. “I love to see when people take my business and put it in their budget.”
For the last 17 years, Selvy’s business D & T Mobile Express, a mobile pressure washing business, has been a Vicksburg staple. The company offers pressure washing of houses, concrete driveways, and commercial businesses. He started his business with a big dream and a thoughtful mind. Today, D&T has over 200 accounts and is doing better than ever in Vicksburg and surrounding areas.
Selvy is a true example of how hard work and dedication can turn one into a successful businessman. He continues to inspire his community as a businessman, father, and husband.
Yesterday’s event was a collaboration with the City of Vicksburg, the U.S. Small Business Administration, and the Vicksburg-Warren Chamber of Commerce. Mayor George Flaggs Jr., Allen Thomas (SBA Southeast Regional Administrator), and Pablo Diaz (President & CEO of Vicksburg-Warren Chamber of Commerce) were all the keynote speakers.
