Shaun Archer Sr. named head football coach at Madison High in Tallulah
TALLULAH, La. (VDN) — Shaun Archer Sr. has been named the new head football coach at Madison High School, the school announced Wednesday morning.
“Madison High School proudly welcomes Coach Shaun Archer as our new head football coach,” the school said in a statement. “Coach Archer brings leadership, passion, and a commitment to excellence both on and off the field. We are excited for the future of Jaguar football as he leads our student-athletes with discipline, integrity, and a vision for success.”
Archer arrives at Madison High after spending last season at Madison Middle School, where he led the Jaguars to an undefeated 5-0 record.
Prior to his time in Louisiana, Archer spent 16 years as an assistant coach at Vicksburg High School. During his tenure, he served in multiple roles, including defensive coordinator, linebackers coach, assistant head coach, and head track and field coach.
Archer also previously coached at his alma mater, Port Gibson High School.
As a player, Archer was a four-year letterman at Alcorn State University, where he earned first-team All-Southwestern Athletic Conference and first-team All-American honors.
