Sheriff Pace issues warning after arrest tied to Freetown Road thefts
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A Warren County man was arrested Thursday, July 24, in connection to a series of thefts on Freetown Road, and Sheriff Martin Pace is urging anyone who may have purchased or traded for stolen property from the suspect to come forward now or risk potential charges.
Warren County deputies responded to reports on July 19 and July 22 regarding items missing from an unoccupied home in the 7000 block of Freetown Road. A very alert neighborhood watch group provided a description and tag number of a suspicious vehicle seen in the area, which was turned over to investigators.
Lt. Stacy Rollison, Detective Zack Primeaux, and Deputy Jeff Harrell located the suspect at his residence around 11 a.m. Thursday.
The suspect, identified as Timothy Allen Lawrence Jr., 49, of Warren County, was charged with grand larceny. He is expected to make his initial court appearance Friday. A detainer has also been placed on him by the Terry Police Department, where he faces misdemeanor warrants.
Items reported stolen include a four-ton air conditioning unit, an inoperable older model vehicle, a boat, and several other items. As of Thursday evening, none of the stolen property had been recovered.
Pace said the investigation is ongoing and that the Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help recovering the missing items.
“We are alerting the public if anyone has purchased or traded this individual for any items in the last several days, they need to come forward to the sheriff’s office, as long as they come forward with the information now,” said Pace. “If the investigation identifies them later and they are in possession of property that they now know is stolen, they could face criminal charges.”
