VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) Six local athletes from Warren Central and Vicksburg High School were selected for the boys’ All-County District Team; five from Warren Central and one from Vicksburg High.

Warren Central:

Luke Bond, Charlie Esparza, Jackson Holden, Jacob Porter, and Jamarian Shelly all represented WC as some of the top players in the district.

Porter broke a school scoring record with 26 goals and 6 assists in the 2024-2025 season. He was also selected to play in the Central Mississippi All-Star Game and named VDN Player of the Year.

Charlie Esparza scored 7 goals and was a standout defensive player for WC.

Luke Bond was all over the field this year and finished with 15 goals and 13 assists.

Jackson Holden became a standout defensive player while helping WC to another district title. He also scored one goal and had one assist.

Jamarian Shelly showed up out of nowhere this season for the Vikings. After never playing soccer before, Shelly joined the team and dominated the whole season as a goalkeeper. He finished the year with 86 saves and posted 11 shutouts. Shelly also signed with Hinds Community College.

All five of WC’s athletes played under Head Coach Greg Head who led the team to back-to-back district championships as well as back-to-back North State Championship appearances.

Vicksburg High School:

Allan Allen is the lone athlete who represents the Gators on the All-District Team. Allen led the team with four goals in the 2024-2025 season under Head Coach Maurice Gilliam.
