National Telecommunicators Week is coming up in April. Vicksburg Warren 911 has several telecommunication professionals who work day and night to keep you safe. This series of articles will highlight each one.
Today we are featuring Paige Cook.
Paige Cook has been at Vicksburg Warren E-911 for 11 years. She first started at Culkin Fire Department alongside her husband, Brody Cook.
Robert Rufus (now the director of 911) was also a supervisor in the fire department at the time. She would go hang out with him and see how things were, and he told her she should put in an application. Now, 11 years later, she wouldn’t trade the job (most days) for anything. It’s the most stressful job but also the most rewarding. Paige became the supervisor over Charlie’s shift a little over two years ago.
She’s been married for almost 13 years. She and her husband have four children. Their oldest son is in college at MSU, the next oldest daughter is a senior at RCEC, and their younger two girls both attend Beechwood Elementary. She says she is beyond proud of all her children, as they have been there throughout all of the ups and downs that come with this job. The job can be emotionally and mentally challenging, but she also absolutely loves it and will continue to strive to be the best and always come to work ready to help the community but also make sure our officers and units go home to their families at the end of the day.
Paige and her family attend Elevate Church, where they find solace and support in their faith. This aspect of her life is crucial in helping her maintain a healthy work-life balance, which is essential in her demanding role.
