Three members of Port Gibson Middle School Football Team will Participate in All-Star Game
Port Gibson, Miss.-Three members of the Port Gibson Middle School football team have been selected to participate in the Magnolia Sports Association Elite All-Star Game. Jadice Moore and Tyler Doss have both been selected to coach in the prestigious game while PGMS athlete Joheravious Norrell will play in the first annual game.
Coach Moore serves as Head Coach of Port Gibson Middle School where he recently led the Blue Waves to a 4-3. PGMS took a loss in the championship game where Norrell starred on the offensive and defensive line.
Moore will serve as the Defensive Coordinator for the black & gold team.
“It’s a great honor to be recognized for my talents and I just want to help put Port Gibson on the map, Moore said.
In Moore’s four seasons as Head Coach, he has compiled a successful 17-9 record. Before coaching, Moore was a high school All-American lineman at PGHS under Head Coach Bo Wright. He also played in the North/South All-State before playing at Mississippi State University under Head Coach Jackie Sherrill.
Doss:
Tyler Doss is in his third year as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at PGMS. He will serve as the linebackers coach in the All-Star Game.
“This is a great opportunity not only for me but for Port Gibson as a whole,” Doss said. “I’m looking forward to meeting other like-minded coaches as well and pulling off a win next week.”
Doss is no stranger to football as he was a standout player at PGHS. He helped the Blue Waves to an 8-3 season in 2011 under former Head Coach Lynn Lang where he led the team with 152 tackles. Coach Moore also coached Doss as well.
Norrell will play on offense in the All-Star Gane as he gets a chance to suit up one more time before he moves to the high school level next year.
The All-Star Game will be held on December 27 at 7 p.m. at East Central Community College.
