Two Mississippi men sentenced after pleading guilty to raping a child

Two Mississippi men have been sentenced after pleading guilty to raping a child. 64-year-old Kim Stewart Lodge and 35-year-old Keldrick Jernell Magee were accused of raping a 2-year-old boy in Bassfield.

The incident occurred back in December 2021 when a 2-year-old was reported missing. Hours later he was found naked on the side of the road in Sumrall and taken to a hospital. It was later determined that Magee was a cousin to the child and he was the last person to be with him. 

Lodge later confessed to the crimes after he and Magee were arrested. They were both in a relationship at the time of the arrest.

According to WLBT, Magee was sentenced to 171 years in prison for the following crimes:

  • Two counts of sexual battery – 42 years to serve for each
  • One count of rape – 42 years to serve
  • One count of kidnapping – 30 years to serve
  • One count of tampering with evidence – 10 years to serve
  • One count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping – Five years to serve

WLBT also reported that Lodge was sentenced to 75 years in prison for the following crimes:

  • One count of sexual battery – 40 years with 20 years to serve
  • One count of rape – 40 years with 20 years to serve
  • One count of kidnapping – 30 years with 20 to serve
  • One count of tampering with evidence – 10 years to serve
  • One count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping – Five years to serve

Judge Prentiss Harrell handed down the sentences which will all run concurrently. District Attorney Hal Kittrell was the lead Prosecutor on the case along with Assistant District Attorneys Carpenter Marsalis and Laurel Brinkley.
