US 65 N at Railroad Grade Crossing in Tallulah Closed Beginning Tomorrow at 6 a.m. for Repairs

TALLULAH, LA. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that US 65 N in Madison Parish, at the railroad grade crossing, will be closed to all vehicular traffic beginning 6:00 am Saturday, September 28 until 8:00 pm Sunday, September 29.

The US 65 N closure is for Canadian Pacific/Kansas City Southern (CPKC) Railroad to perform crossing repairs and routine maintenance.

Detour:
A detour route will be signed and provided for the duration of the closure. All vehicles must detour using LA 601, LA 602, US 80.

Restrictions:
Closed to all vehicular traffic.

Safety Reminder:
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

DOTD reminds motorists that it is unsafe and unlawful to drive onto a closed road past a “road closed” barricade at any time for any reason.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
