VHS freshman basketball team defeated Pearl on Thursday

Vicksburg High School freshman girls’ and boys’ basketball teams both defeated Pearl on Thursday.

Missy Gators:

The Missy Gators won 55-32 over the Lady Pirates.

Khaiya Willis led the team with 19 points and Raylyn Parson added 15 points on the board. Nakia Jeffers put up seven points and Kenley Henderson contributed five. Nykeria Watson scored three and Cedrionna Blackmore hit a free throw.

Boys’ game:

VHS pulled off a 60-52 win over Pearl as Brycen Jones led with 16 points.

Marlyn Foy came away with 13 points while Jordan Clay added 11. Caleb Sims and Nick  Carson both scored six points a piece and Fabian Moore ended the night with three points.

The Gators will travel to Northwest Rankin on Monday.
