VHS Girls’ Powerlifting Team Dominated at Regionals

Vicksburg, Miss.-The Vicksburg High School girls’ powerlifting team competed at regionals on Tuesday at Neshoba Central. Three of the athletes placed in the top 3 and will advance to North State.

“The young ladies worked hard leading up to the meet and did an excellent job,” Head Coach Andre Bennett said.

Cedrionna Blackmore finished as a district champion in her division as she came in first place. Jazmine Ellis came in second place and Ja’Keyla Curry finished in third place. All three will compete at North State on February 25. 

The powerlifting team is led by Head Coach Andre Bennett and the team consists of Cedrionna Blackmore, Aunisty Davis, Jamiya Stewart, Ja’Keyla Curry, Jazzmyne Ellis, MaKynzie Dunmore, Taylor Howard, Rhania Sylvester and Kennedy Williams.
