VHS pulled off a close 41-40 win over Forest Hill; WC took a loss to Brandon

Vicksburg, Miss.-Vicksburg High School boys’ basketball team snuck away with a 41-40 win over Forest Hill on the road.

Jaquez Jones led the Gators with 13 points while Javeion Perkins hit two 3-pointers and added 11 points in the win. Jadarius Henderson scored eight points and Mincer Minor IV added four points. DeCorey Knight Jr. scored three points while Jaquez Marshall and Sedret Maxwell both hit a free throw.

In the final seconds of the game, Minor grabbed a crucial block and Knight grabbed the steal to run out the clock as VHS earned the win.

The Gators will host Florence on Tuesday. 

Warren Central:

The Vikings took a 62-51 loss to Brandon on Thursday.Robert Williams scored 17 points and DJ Gibbs scored 16 points. Davon O’Neal added 7 points and 9 assists while Daniel Brown also finished with 7 points.

The Vikings will host Jim Hill on Thursday.
