VHS tennis team defeats Columbus

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg High School’s (VHS) tennis team crushed Columbus 6-1 earlier this week.
“Our players stepped up in a big way today. Their hard work and commitment to the game continue to pay off, and I’m incredibly proud of their effort,” VHS head tennis coach Monica Williams said. “They’ll look to carry this energy into their next competition as they strive for even greater success.”
Kennedy Mullins won the girls singles match 6-0, 6-0, and Sam Baker claimed victory in the boys singles match 6-1, 6-0. Gideon Thompson and Chaez Moore won the boys doubles after a 7-4 tiebreaker, while Arthur Davis and Khaleb Bailey took the second boys doubles match 6-2, 6-1.
In girls doubles, Madyson Baker and Grace Tyler earned a 6-0, 6-4 win. Amari Davis and Jarrell Noye finished the day with a win in mixed doubles.
