VHS took down WC to advance to the State Tournament

Vicksburg, Miss.-Vicksburg High School girls’ basketball team ended Warren Central’s season in the district tournament as the Missy Gators won 62-46 on Tuesday night. Zion Harvey was the mastermind behind the Missy Gators’ success as she scored 27 points along with collecting seven rebounds and six assists.

Camara Evans led things for WC as she came away with 22 points and teammate Arrionna Jenkins scored 10 points. Cynia Johnson also dominated for VHS as she put up 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Ny’Keria Watson added seven points for the Missy Gators and Jada Erwin finished with three points. 

Keasia Williams scored five points for WC and Ballet Duty added four. 

VHS will play Neshoba Central on Thursday. Last night’s win earned them a spot in the state tournament.
