Vicksburg man killed in house fire in Jefferson County

UNION CHURCH, Miss.(VDN) — A Vicksburg man was killed in a house fire Monday morning in Jefferson County.

According to multiple reports, deputies responded to a residence on Old Highway 20 in Union Church, Mississippi, around 5 a.m. Six people were inside the home at the time of the fire, and five were able to escape.

The victim was identified as 22-year-old Jacob Bohannon of Vicksburg.

The cause of the fire has not been determined and remains under investigation by the Mississippi State Fire Marshal.
