Vicksburg native Barry Dillon signs to Ohio University
ATHENS COUNTY, OHIO(VDN) — Barry Dillon, a Vicksburg native, has signed with Ohio University, he announced Friday night on his social media accounts.
Dillon comes to Ohio after spending the past two seasons playing football at the University of the Incarnate Word. During the 2025 season, Dillon recorded 25 total tackles, five pass deflections and one interception while playing in the secondary. He consistently contributed in pass coverage and run support, providing depth and experience to the defensive backfield.
One of Dillon’s strongest performances of the season came in a 31-21 victory over Eastern Washington. In that game, he finished with three tackles, two pass deflections and an interception.
Before beginning his collegiate career, Dillon was a standout athlete at Arlington High School, where he earned recognition for his athleticism and versatility on the football field. His success at the high school level helped pave the way for opportunities at the collegiate level.
Dillon’s move to Ohio marks the next chapter in his football career as he looks to continue developing and competing at a high level with the Bobcats.
