Vicksburg, Ms – Vicksburg resident Sadia Perry expresses her love for her art as it has become a big part of her life.

Perry was born in Dhaka Bangladesh but grew up in Durham, UK., and Ann Arbor MI. She first started painting at an early age sitting beside her older sister while she finished her homework.

Over the years, Perry has painted countless pieces, and finds great meaning in each one.

“The meaning in my artwork is human connection,” Perry said. “It is my way of communicating. Some have said that I’ve created a new kind of art… calling my pieces “Happy Art.” I’ve met some collectors of my art that tell me that my art is therapeutic, full of wonder and intrigue.”

After completing an art piece, Perry has a chance to view her hard work and enjoy the feelings of her creations.

“I feel really happy. I feel as though, the Universe had a message to share and I completed the wish or desire the Universe had,” she said.

Perry has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and she carries a lot of that learning into her art. She still has big plans for her artwork so it can be viewed by many.

“I would love to display my art at the MOMA (The Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan),” she said. “Also, I would love to find “my tribe” with my art. Since my collectors have said that my art “is healing” to their mental health. I would love to help more people with their mental health.”
