VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg High School’s secondary made its presence felt in last week’s preseason scrimmage against Clinton. The Gators earned a 7-3 win Friday night, with the defensive backs not allowing a single touchdown through the air.

The unit allowed zero completions on 14 pass attempts while recording five deflections, one interception and six tackles during the two-quarter varsity scrimmage.

The secondary includes sophomores James Warfield, Corbin Walker and Landon Prentiss, along with seniors Deztin Minor and Donovin Brown.

Vicksburg will open the regular season on the road Friday against Natchez High School. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at NHS.
