YMCA registration open for fall flag football, cheerleading

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The YMCA is now accepting registrations for its fall flag football and cheerleading programs, with the deadline set for Sept. 1. Families can register online or at the YMCA front desk.

The season will run from Sept. 15 through Oct. 23 at Key City Park. Flag football is open to children ages 5-12, with divisions for 5- and 6-year-olds, 7- through 9-year-olds, and 10- through 12-year-olds. Cheerleading is available for participants ages 7-12. All ages are based on the participant’s age as of Aug. 1, 2025.

The program costs $65 for YMCA members and $85 for non-members. Scholarships are available for both sports. First-time participants in YMCA sports are required to present a birth certificate when registering.

Players will be placed on teams according to the schools they attend, ensuring children can compete alongside classmates and friends. YMCA staff said they look forward to another successful season of youth sports, which provides opportunities for skill-building, teamwork and community engagement.
