Vicksburg’s Aaliyah Mims Selected to play in the Mississippi Girls Basketball All-State Game
Vicksburg, Miss.-Vicksburg Junior High School basketball player Aaliyah Mims has been selected to play in the Mississippi Girls Basketball All-State Game. It was announced on Friday afternoon that Mims accepted the invitation to play in the prestigious game.
Mims recently played under Head Coach Jennifer Stewart where she helped VJHS earn a spot in the Little Six Tournament. Two of her best games was against Byram Middle School and Warren Central Junior High where she scored 13 points in each of those games. Although Mims is in eighth grade, she also played for the Missy Gators eighth grade team last year as a seventh grader.
Since her eighth grade season has come to an end, Mims have been moved up to the varsity high school team where she is now playing under Head Coach Troy Stewart.
About the Game:
This 3-day event celebrates the top athletes in the state while opening up elite training and play opportunities.
They’ll meet club coaches and make connections that last the rest of your basketball career. Some All-State athletes have joined those clubs, continued to improve their game, and gone on to play collegiate and pro.
They’ll also work with top high school coaches, club coaches, and other top Mississippi coaches. Their insights and recommendations can get you ready to be a star high school and club athlete.
The event culminates with The State Game Champion Awards: MVP Awards, presented to the All-State Game top players on the winning teams gold Medals, presented to the All-State Game winning team and coach.
