Vicksburg native and NFL football player Malcolm Butler has officially announced that he is retiring.

Butler officially made the announcement on Sunday.

“I am retired,” he said. I did the best I can do. “Walking away from the game feeling comfortable. Everybody can do more, but I’m satisfied with my career. It’s time to move on and transition.”

Butler was a star cornerback for the New England Patriots from 2014-2017, Tennessee Titans 2018-2020 and also briefly playing for the Arizona Cardinals in 2021 and back with the Patriots in 2022 before suffering injuries. He is a two-time Super Bowl Champion who captured fame after catching the game winning interception in the Super Bowl back in 2015.

Butler is a 2009 graduate of Vicksburg High School.
