Vikings took down VHS 13-1
Warren Central High School baseball quickly put the game away against Vicksburg High on Tuesday in a 13-1 victory to claim their second straight district championship.
The Vikings went up 1-0 in the first inning after Cade Fairley hit an RBI. A double and single by Conner Watkins(2 runs on each one) along with hits from Jack Esparza and Lester Martin as well as multiple walks helped WC earn 11 runs as they went up 12-0.
Tyler Carter was able to get VHS on the board in the fourth after a hit by Tyler Carter while Watkins capped things off with an RBI to give WC the 13-1 win.
Watkins went 2 for 3 with five RBIs while Ryan Nelson(2 RBIs), Martin, and Esparza all had one hit. Brooks Willoughby struck out eight batters in the win.
For VHS, Chris Green, Kealon Bass, and Tyler Carter(1RBI) each had one hit.
Both teams will face each other at VHS on Friday.
