Warren Central girls finish second; boys third at Canton Speed City Invitational

The Lady Vikes turned in a strong performance, highlighted by four first-place finishes and several top-five efforts across multiple events.

Arrionna Jenkins led the way in the field events, capturing first place in both the discus (107 feet, 2 inches) and shot put (37-4). Madison Ward also delivered a standout performance, earning first-place finishes in the 100-meter hurdles (16.17 seconds), long jump (16-7) and triple jump (34-2.50).

On the boys’ side, Warren Central secured three first-place finishes, with strong showings in distance and field events.

  • Arrionna Jenkins: 1st place discus (107-2), 1st place shot put (37-4)
  • Madison Ward: 1st place 100m hurdles (16.17), 1st place long jump (16-7), 1st place triple jump (34-2.50)

  • Kayla Parson: 2nd place 1600m (6:37.09), 4th place 800m
  • Mere Smith: 2nd place 300m hurdles (47.75), 5th place 100m hurdles

Boys:

  • Will Bates: 1st place 3200m (10:54.60), 3rd place 1600m
  • Braden Cooper: 1st place shot put (42-9), 4th place discus
  • Edward Mazie: 1st place 300m hurdles (42.35), 4th place triple jump, 4th place 110m hurdles
  • Kenneth Jaylen Woods: 2nd place shot put (40-6)
  • Xavier Jackson: 3rd place triple jump (40-1)
  • Jaylen DeFrance: 4th place high jump
