Warren Central Releases 2025 Ninth Grade Football Schedule

VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN)—Warren Central High School has released its 2025 ninth grade football schedule, with the team set to be led by head coach Matt Williams.

This year’s freshman squad enters the season with momentum, coming off an undefeated eighth grade campaign in which they captured the Little Six Championship with a perfect 7-0 record.

The Vikings will kick off the season on Aug. 26 at home on Highway 27 against the Northwest Rankin Cougars. They’ll then travel to face Rosa Scott in Madison on Sept. 2 before returning home to host Germantown on Sept. 9 and Sumner Hill on Sept. 16.

Warren Central hits the road again on Sept. 23 to take on Pearl before meeting crosstown rival Vicksburg High School on Sept. 30 at VHS, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.

If the team qualifies, they will return to compete in the Little Six Championship game on Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. The site for that game has not yet been determined.

With a strong group of returning talent and a championship pedigree, expectations are high for the ninth grade Vikings as they look to build on last year’s success and continue their winning tradition under Coach Williams.
