Warren Central’s Dwight Palmer receives state championship ring

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN)Warren Central’s Dwight Palmer Jr. received his state championship ring this week in recognition of his historic track and field season.

Palmer was presented the ring by head coach Corey Wilson Sr. and principal Drew Rainer, with support from athletic director James Lewis and the school’s athletic department.

The senior sprinter delivered a dominant performance at last year’s state meet, winning titles in the 100-, 200- and 400-meter races. He finished with times of 10.73 seconds in the 100, 21.84 in the 200 and 49.12 in the 400, securing a rare sprint sweep and cementing his place among the school’s all-time greats.

The ceremony celebrated both Palmer’s individual success and the strength of Warren Central’s athletic program.
