Waterview Casino to host Blood Drive today
VICKSBURG, Miss. โ Mississippi Blood Services will hold a blood drive today at Waterview Casino from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
While all blood types are needed, type O is routinely in short supply and in high demand by hospitals โ both because it is the most common blood type and because type O negative blood is the universal blood type needed for emergency transfusions and for immune deficient infants.
Donors who participate in today’s blood drive, located in the Waterview Casino parking lot, will receive a $20 VISA gift card.
Earlier this year, Mississippi Blood Services reported the organization is experiencing an emergency shortage of blood types A, B, and O.

- Bring a valid ID with you for verification purposes.
- Make sure you have eaten within the last 4 hours before donating. A balanced meal helps prevent reactions and supports a successful donation.
- Drink plenty of fluids before and after donating. Proper hydration is crucial for reducing potential reactions and ensuring adequate blood collection.
