WC couldn’t overcome Brandon in a 29-28 loss
Warren Central High School football team fell short 29-28 to Brandon on Friday.
The Vikings quickly went up 10-0 to start the game as Nash Morgan ran in a 3-yard touchdown and Artman kicked a 26-yard field goal. Brandon responded with a 57-yard touchdown run from Tyson Robinson. They also scored on a 45-yard pass to take the 13-10 lead in the first quarter.
It wouldn’t take long for Brandon to score again in the second quarter as Robinson broke out on a 20-yard run to put the Bulldogs up 20-10.
The Vikings got back in the game with less than two minutes left in the half after Morgan broke out for a 25-run which set up a 4-yard score by Aden Greer. He also ran in the 2-point conversion as they trailed 20-18.
Warren Central would regain the lead in the third quarter when Artman booted a 32-yard field goal. A 15-yard touchdown by Greer would put WC up 28-20 late in the third after Roosevelt Harris Jr. recovered a fumble. Just shortly before the end of the third quarter, CJ Martin scored on a short run for Brandon as they trailed 29-26.
In the fourth quarter, Brandon kicked a 30-yard field goal to regain the lead. WC wouldn’t get back on the board for the remainder of the game and they now are 2-2 on the year.
Larry Reynolds Jr. and Ronnie Blossom both had sacks in the game while Ricky Neal and De’Kasei Crump both had interceptions.
The Vikings will host Madison Central next week for homecoming.
