WC flag football defeated Jefferson County 26-0

“Tonight was great and we had the opportunity to get some other girls in the game,” Nolan said. “This was a great experience and we gave it everything we had with everything we learned over the last few week.”

Four Lady Vikes reached the end zone as Warren Central continued its undefeated start.

WC took a 12-0 lead in the first half. Tra’marianna Garrett opened the scoring with a 20-yard touchdown run, and Shaniya Lewis followed with a 40-yard touchdown run after breaking free from multiple defenders.

The Lady Vikes’ defense dominated throughout. Malia Croom recorded multiple stops, while Kylee Chambers added two tackles for loss to keep Jefferson County off the scoreboard. Keasia Williams grabbed an interception early in the game, and Madison Ward contributed a 50-yard run.

After halftime, Croom and Chambers continued to anchor a defense that did not allow a point.

Quarterback Ka’Ryn Henderson showcased her mobility early before connecting with Calleigh Barnette on a 20-yard touchdown pass. Chanice Anderson added the extra point to extend the lead to 20-0.

Less than 30 seconds later, Williams sealed the game with a 30-yard pick-six to cap the scoring.

Offensively, WC is averaging 29.3 points per game(HC Brad Nolan), while the defense is allowing just two points per game(DC Ced Jackson).
