WCJHS boys’ defeated VJHS on Wednesday

Vicksburg, Miss.-Warren Central Junior High School boys’ basketball team improved to 9-0 on the year after defeating Vicksburg Junior High 58-36 on Wednesday. 

The Vikings went up 12-4 in the first quarter as Jordan Taylor contributed most of the early points. By halftime, WCJHS was up 30-15 with the help of Ja’Ven Lee. Daylon Washington hit two 3-pointers in the second quarter.

Jarrad Williams, Younger, and Lee all dominated in the second half to help the Vikings pull off the win. Antwon Chiplin, Cayleb Logan, and Washington all led VJHS.

Lee scored 18 points for WC while Taylor scored 16. Williams added nine points and Doss Morgan put up six points. Jordan Younger scored five points while Cameron Zellous and Braylen Selvy both added two points. 

For VJHS, Washington led with 14 points and Chiplin added 12. Logan scored eight points and Chareck Cable contributed two points.
