Lady Vikes defeated Wesson 9-2 on Wednesday

Warren Central High School softball team came out with a 9-2 win over Wesson on Wednesday.

Maddy Pant popped things off with a two-run single which was followed by an RBI from Kamryn Morson that gave WC a 3-0 lead. Wesson wouldn’t respond until the third inning where they brought in two runs to put the score at 3-2.

The Lady Vikes would pick up their next run in the fourth when Makayla Jackson hit and RBI to put WC up 4-2. Jenn Smith hit a hard single in the fifth and would eventually score off a passed ball which was followed by a sacrifice from Kennadi Williams where Whitley Parks scored the run. Tyra Bridges wrapped up the inning with a crucial double as WC led 7-2.

Jackson smashed a hit in the sixth and Sarah Cameron Fancher followed up with a nice single of her own that led to WC’s eighth run. She would eventually score the final run after stealing third and fourth base as WC took the 9-2 win.

Pant struck out six batters in the win while Smith led at the plate by going 2 for 3 with two runs. Bridges, Pant(2 RBIs), Fancher and Jackson all had one hit and one RBI.

The Lady Vikes will host Clinton on Thursday.
