Stacy Rena Strickland: 1972-2025
VICKSBURG, Miss. — With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Stacy Rena Strickland, who left this world far too soon on July 4, 2025, at the age of 52. Stacy was a light in every room, the life of every party, and a true force of nature whose laughter could fill your soul and whose spirit could lift even the darkest day.
Born on October 13, 1972, Stacy lived a life full of boldness, humor, and unwavering love for those around her. She had a vibrant energy that made her unforgettable—whether she was cracking jokes, dancing in the kitchen, or showing up for her loved ones when they needed her most.
Stacy shared a wild and beautiful love story with her husband, and together they were an unforgettable duo. Their adventures, laughter, and deep bond were something that many admired. Through thick and thin, Stacy stood fiercely by the people she loved, always choosing joy, even in the hardest of times.
She was a beloved wife, mother, stepmother, daughter, sister, and friend—known for her wit, her sass, and her ability to make even a stranger feel like family. The memories made were full of love, mischief, and genuine fun. Stacy had a way of making ordinary days feel like something to celebrate.
Stacy is preceded in death by her grandmother, Dattie Mae Hughes, and her aunt Ruby Hughes.
She is survived by her mother Darlene Hughes, Father Jerry Jones, husband James Strickland, two children , Colden Hynum (Kaylin) & Haley Morrisette (Ben), three brothers, Michael Jones, Josh Jones, and Andy Beard, one sister, Mary Anna Jones, two step-children Caitlin & Blake Strickland, six grandchildren, Ansley Morrisette, Stevie Weeks, Memphis Weeks, Raylin Hynum, Emersyn Hynum, and Cade Koehler, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue.
The family would like to extend a hearty thanks to Jackson Oncology, Dr. Herrington as well as Gentiva Hospice. A huge thanks to all the nurses and staff who’s taken on this journey with Stacy and gave the best care to her over the years.
