Amanda "Mandi" Allen

Amanda “Mandi” Allen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on June 4, 2026 at the age of 52.

Mandi was born and raised in Utica, Mississippi, where she spent a lifetime collecting stories, making memories, and leaving an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a larger-than-life personality, a quick wit, and a gift for making ordinary days unforgettable. Fearless by nature, she was often the one leading the pack—whether on horseback, riding a four-wheeler, or making her way to the dance floor or whether she was laughing around a campfire, piling friends into a vehicle for an impromptu road trip, or sharing stories that left everyone in stitches, Mandi had a way of turning everyday moments into adventures.

Those who knew her best remember her fierce loyalty, her stubborn determination, and her ability to make people feel like family. She loved deeply and lived boldly. Her friendships often lasted decades, a testament to the connections she formed and the laughter she shared along the way. Mandi was also incredibly proud to be a registered nurse, a role she sacrificed for and worked tirelessly to achieve. Caring for others was not only her profession but a reflection of the compassion and strength she carried throughout her life.

Above all else, Mandi loved her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Shannon Allen; her daughters, Brayden Tanksley (Seth), Swayze Allen; Morgan Carr (Stephen) and Abbey Buchanan (Brendan); her son, Jaxen Allen; her cherished grandson, Slade Tanksley; her sisters, Mary Ross (Pete), Donna Ross (Bill Ray) Cynthia Sullivan, and Dawn Beck, her brother, Dusty Ross (Crystal), her Nanny LaMae Allen, and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends whose lives were forever enriched by knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Jane Dodson, her father Fred Ross, and her nephew, Stephen Hubbard.

Mandi’s absence leaves a void that cannot be filled. She will be remembered not only for the struggles she faced but for the joy she brought, the memories she created, and the love she gave throughout her life.

Those who loved her will carry her stories, her laughter, and her spirit with them always.

The family asks that those who knew Mandi honor her memory by sharing a favorite story, offering kindness to someone in need, and cherishing the people they love while they have the chance.

Though her journey has ended, the memories she leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Cayuga Methodist Church at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Keith Garland officiating. A visitation will be at the church from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Cayuga Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mark Mitchell, David Cochran, Greg Barwick, Seth Tanksley, Brendan Buchanan, and Prentice Brown.

“Mandi’s family ask that you wear something vibrant to her service as we celebrate a life full of color”

“In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Mandi’s memory by donating blood or making a contribution to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a charity close to her heart.”
