Chuck E. Cheese mascot arrested on the job
TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (VDN) — A Chuck E. Cheese employee has been arrested on the job while dressed as the mouse mascot.
The arrest took place on July 23 inside the Chuck E. Cheese location in Tallahassee. According to police, as reported in numerous sources, the suspect resisted arrest and was therefore put in cuffs inside the open facility.
The suspect, Jermel Jones, 41, was escorted out the door of the facility in view of customers, including children. Police say has been charged with three felonies; credit card theft, criminal use of personal identification information and fraudulent use of a credit card more than twice for purchases over $100.
A woman who used her child support debit card at the restaurant on June 28 had noticed fraudulent activity. She was at the restaurant for her child’s birthday party. Units with the Tallahassee Police were able to obtain video footage of the suspect using the card as nearby businesses. Additionally, the card was found in the suspect’s possession during the arrest along with a receipt from a recent purchase.
