VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A man caused several disturbances in the city and county and then grabbed cash from a restaurant in the county.
An area man was transported to Merit Health River Region after an interaction with law enforcement. According to radio traffic, he caused a disturbance in the ambulance, and radio traffic later reported he was causing a disturbance at the hospital.
From there, he reportedly went to the Dollar General near the hospital and caused a rucus over a lighter. He wanted to use it for free but was told he would have to buy it.
A few minutes later, a report came in that Tommy’s BBQ, a few doors south of the hospital and Dollar General, was being robbed.
According to eyewitnesses, the man came in and ate some of the food packaged near the counter. The manager told the man he could have the cake, but he needed to leave. He refused, then grabbed cash from the restaurant.
He took off running south and was last seen heading towards the Fox Pizza Distribution Center just south of Tommy’s.
No one was injured in any of the incidents, and only an undetermined amount of cash was taken.
Numerous units from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office were searching the area for the man. His identity is known to law enforcement, but no official release of his name has been given at this time. Tommy of Tommy’s BBQ said they will be closed on Sunday.
