Cynia Johnson scored 20 points last night for Holmes Community College
GOODMAN, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg native Cynia Johnson led Holmes Community College in points on Monday night. Johnson scored 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the 55-47 win against Mississippi Delta Community College.
Monday night’s performance was the best for the freshman who is averaging 9.4 points per game. Another Vicksburg native, Zion Harvey, scored 14 points in the win.
Johnson is a 2025 graduate of Vicksburg High School where she played under Head Coach Troy Stewart. She was also VDN’s Co-Basketball Player of the Year.

The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs knocked off the Mississippi Delta Community College Lady Trojans, 55-47, here Monday night.
Holmes improves to 4-2 on the season and returns to action on Dec. 3 vs. Baton Rouge in Goodman at 5:30 p.m.
Delta led 24-23 at halftime before the Lady Bulldogs outscored the Lady Trojans, 32-23, in the second half to pull out the win.
Cynia Johnson led the Lady Bulldogs with 20 points while Zion Harvey had 14. Johnson had 13 rebounds while Harvey had seven.
