Warren County man indicted on rape charge

WARREN COUNTY, Miss.(VDN) — A Warren County man has been indicted on a rape charge by a grand jury.

According to the indictment, Jeremy Dwayne Austin is accused of committing the alleged crime around Jan. 15, 2025.

Austin was also indicted as a habitual offender due to previous felony convictions. Court records show that he was previously convicted of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and possession of a controlled substance.

The indictment was returned during the January term of the Warren County grand jury.

Austin has not yet gone to trial or entered a guilty plea in connection with the charge. If convicted, he could face a life sentence in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
