Warren County woman indicted on child abuse charges

VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — A Warren County woman has been indicted on two counts of child abuse following action by a grand jury during its January term.

The grand jury returned two indictments against Eugena James, accusing her of causing bodily harm to a child under the age of 12, according to court documents.

The indictment alleges that the child suffered injuries to several areas of the body, including the back, neck and arms. Specific details about the circumstances surrounding the alleged abuse were not immediately available.

At this time, James has not entered a plea in the case. She has the legal right to plead guilty or maintain her innocence and have the case decided in court.

If the case proceeds, it will be handled in Warren County Circuit Court.
