BOS recognizes April as Fair Housing Month

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Warren County Board of Supervisors officially recognized April as Fair Housing Month at the regular meeting held Monday, April 6. 

President and CEO of the Vicksburg-Warren Partnership, Pablo Diaz, approached the BOS asking for the passing of proclamation to officially recognize the month in Warren County. The Board accepted and signed the proclamation. 

Each April, the month is celebrated to reaffirm the commitment to ending housing discrimination and commemorate the passage of the federal Fair Housing Act in 1968, which prohibits discrimination in the sale or rental of housing on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or disability.
